Our middle school students celebrated World Space Week with great enthusiasm through a variety of colorful and engaging activities. 🚀✨

The UN's 2026 theme, “To the Moon – Rocket Revolution,” came to life through our students’ creative projects, developed through interdisciplinary collaboration led by the Science Department. We kicked off the week at the amphitheater with songs specially prepared for the occasion, while our students added excitement to the celebration with their space-themed designs.

Throughout the week, interdisciplinary student projects were exhibited in the school courtyard, accompanied by a range of activities and STEM challenges. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Serdar Evren and his team, students participated in a rocket-modeling workshop and designed their own spacecraft using K’NEX construction materials during the “Designing My Spacecraft” activity.

Some of our students attended the online conference “Space Is Closer Than Ever,” organized in collaboration with METU (Middle East Technical University) and GUHEM (Gökmen Space and Aviation Training Center), featuring astrophysicist Dr. Umut Yıldız as the guest speaker. During our school assembly, we welcomed Prof. Dr. Serdar Evren once again for an engaging presentation on the theme “To the Moon – Rocket Revolution.”

As part of Maker Camp, our students took part in various evening activities and explored the night sky through telescopes under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Serdar Evren and his team. They learned how to locate the North Star and had the opportunity to observe Saturn and other planets. 🔭

We also shared the Science Virtual Library Database, curated by our school library, with our entire school community, making World Space Week a truly enriching and memorable learning experience.
