190 Zuhal Eren Zoe Salvemini Persuasıve Wrıtıng and Zoos In our persuasive unit, students learned the importance and power of persuasive writing. This set the foundations for debating. They developed arguments for and against the topic of zoos, learned to give reasons and examples for their arguments with the purpose of persuading the reader. Ece ÜSTÜNKARLI In our persuasive writing unit, we learned why persuasive writing and speaking is important and how much we use it in our daily lives. We learned powerful words and made our own advertisements using these words. After that, we drew an OREO layout for persuasive paragraph writing. We did research about zoos and found 4 reasons for and against zoos. When the research was done we chose a side and using the OREO planning, we wrote a persuasive paragraph about zoos. Nur ERTAN Zoos Are Bad I think zoos are bad. They are evil. Firstly, animals die in zoos because they can’t get enough good food. In their natural habitat, they can eat food that protects them from illnesses. Secondly, because animals become depressed and sad because they take animals away from their family. They are put in cages and they don’t exercise or play enough games. Finally, zoos are only for the entertainment of people. Children shout and bang on cages. This is not nice for the animals. Now you know zoos are bad. Support by never going to a zoo. Duru GÜNDEŞLİOĞLU Zoos Are Bad I think zoos are worthless and not good for animals, as you can see they are disgusting. Animals need a free place. They are separated from their habitat and family. This makes them sad. Zoos are bad because when animals are in the same place, they can die from diseases. Zoos are not animals’ real habitat. It is worthless. It makes other animals sad and miserable. Did you know that other people threaten these animals by shouting and taking photos? My opinion is zoos are awful. They are nothing but prisons for animals. How would you feel if you were in this prison? Bad or Good ?
